“King Leo was a favorite tradition my Grandfather passed on to me in 1932. I can remember sitting in the orange groves, smelling the sweet summer air and having Grandpa put a King Leo peppermint stick into an orange and handing it to me. The porous stick made the perfect straw to slurp up the minty orange juice. When the orange juice was gone, we'd still have the candy to chew!

We live in Florida now, and when my grandchildren come to visit, we go out back and sit underneath our own orange tree and keep the tradition going.

"My brothers and I would get King Leo Peppermint Sticks every Christmas. All the girl siblings would get other flavors, and we'd all run out to the back porch and divide them up each of us could get some of every flavor. I can even remember buying my first tin of King Leo - for a whopping .50¢!

Since then I've kept the tradition alive, and added a new one too. Early in the Holiday Season I'll pull out a King Leo tin and put it on my desk. Every now and then, someone will wander into my office and make up some excuse to grab a couple of sticks. Then I always make sure to give each worker in my office their own tin of King Leo for Christmas.

One worker has collected each years empty tin and has made a bookcase display from them.

I suspect it's to keep me reminded.

Thank you for the memories King Leo, It just wouldn't be Christmas without King Leo!
